Cart Price Rules

Cart price rules apply discounts to items in the shopping cart, based on a set of conditions.

Create a Cart Price Rule

1. On the Admin sidebar, go to Marketing > Promotions > Cart Price Rules

2. Click on Add New Rule

3. Fill out all of the required fields.

4. Tap Save.

Below find the breakdown of cart price rules promotions that are supported by ScandiPWA:

FIELD	STATUS	DESCRIPTION
Free Shipping	SUPPORTED	Free shipping can be offered as a promotion, either with or without a coupon.
Coupon Codes	SUPPORTED	Coupons codes are used with cart price rules to apply a discount when a set of conditions is met. Coupon codes can be entered by customers in the shopping cart to receive the discount.
Buy X Get Y Free	SUPPORTED	"Buy X Get Y Free" is set up as a cart price rule promotion and determines how many items a customer must purchase to get Y qty of the item for free.
Discount with Minimum Purchase	SUPPORTED	Cart price rules can be used to offer a percentage discount based on a minimum purchase. For example, apply a 25% discount to all purchases over $200.00 in a specific category.
Customer Groups Based Rules	SUPPORTED	You can use the setting to determine which customer group a cart price rule can be applied to.
Websites Based Rules	SUPPORTED	You can use the setting to determine on which website a cart price rule is active.
Uses per Coupon	SUPPORTED	Determines how many times the coupon code can be used. If there is no limit, leave the field blank.
Uses per Customer	SUPPORTED	Determines how many times the coupon code can be used by the same registered customer who belongs to any of the selected customer groups.
From	SUPPORTED	Specifies the first day the price rule is in effect. If left blank, the price rule goes into effect as soon as it is saved.
To	SUPPORTED	Specifies the last day the price rule is in effect. If left blank, the price rule continues indefinitely.
Actions	SUPPORTED	Determines the type of calculation that is applied to the purchase. Options: Percent of product price discount - Discounts item by subtracting a percentage from the original price. Fixed amount discount - Discounts items by subtracting a fixed amount from the original price of each qualifying item in the cart. Fixed amount discount for the whole cart - Discounts the entire cart by subtracting a fixed amount from the cart total. Buy X get Y free - Defines a quantity that the customer must purchase to receive a quantity for free. (The Discount Amount is Y.)
Discount Amount	SUPPORTED	The amount of discount that is offered
Discard Subsequent Rules	SUPPORTED	Determines if additional rules can be applied to this purchase. Options: "Yes" or "No".
Maximum Qty Discount is Applied To	SUPPORTED	Determines the maximum quantity of the same product that can qualify for the discount in the same purchase.

Caching Note

The rule will be updated on the front-end immediately after save as they are part of the ScandiPWA caching solution that will invalidate caching entries for the updated content. No cache flush or any other manual operations are necessary. Content will be visible after page refresh and a new cache entry will be stored.
