Breadcrumb Trail

A breadcrumb trail is a set of links that shows where you are in relation to other pages in the store. You can click any link in the breadcrumb trail to return to the previous page.

In ScandiPWA, breadcrumbs are always visible on the storefront product listing page, product description pages, and CMS pages.

Breadcrumb Trail Behaviour:

Product Description Pages

On product description pages, the full category path is always included in the breadcrumb trail. The homepage is present as a first item in the trail. The breadcrumb trail is generated on the product page based on the browsing history.

If there is no history, the following logic is used:

If a product is added to multiple categories, on PDP, the full category path of the last category added to the product in Magento admin will be shown.

CMS Pages

On CMS pages, home is shown as the first element in the breadcrumb trail.

Product Listing Pages

On product listing pages, the full category path is always included in the breadcrumb trail. The homepage is present as a first item in the trail.
